Fragile and High-Value Freight Transport
Delicate and high-value freight is best moved on a dedicated vehicle with as little handling as possible. We match the vehicle, the loading method and the insurance cover to what the goods are actually worth.

Why dedicated transport matters here
Most damage happens during handling rather than driving. On a dedicated vehicle the goods are loaded once and unloaded once, with no hub transhipment and no other freight being moved around them. For fragile items that single change usually removes the main source of risk.
Insurance and declared value
Standard haulage cover under RHA conditions is calculated per tonne, which rarely reflects the value of delicate or high-value goods. Tell us the consignment value at the quotation stage and we will arrange all-risks cover to that figure, confirming the level in writing before collection.
Packaging and handling
We advise on crating, edge protection and how the item should be presented for loading, and can arrange air-ride vehicles, blanket wrapping or two-person handling where the goods need it. Where an item cannot be strapped conventionally, the securing method is agreed before the vehicle is booked.

Common questions
Frequently asked questions
How is high-value freight insured?
Standard cover is weight-based, so we arrange all-risks cover to your declared value instead. Provide the value up front and the level of cover is confirmed in writing before collection.
Do you offer air-ride vehicles?
Yes, air-ride suspension can be specified through the approved carrier network for shock-sensitive equipment and delicate finishes.
Can you provide two people for handling?
Yes. Two-person handling can be arranged where the item cannot safely be moved by one person, and is priced into the job.
Should fragile goods be crated?
Where practical, yes — a rigid crate protects far better than wrapping alone. We can advise on presentation, though building the crate itself normally sits with the consignor or a packing specialist.
Can fragile items travel on a shared load?
Small, well-packaged items can. Anything genuinely delicate, unusually shaped or valuable should travel dedicated so it is not handled alongside other freight.
Do you carry out condition checks?
Drivers note the visible condition of goods at collection and obtain a signed receipt at delivery. Photographs at both ends can be arranged on request.
