Groupage, part load or full trailer

Groupage suits one to six pallets and shares trailer space, which keeps the cost down at the expense of a longer transit. Part loads suit larger consignments that do not fill a trailer. A full trailer travels direct and is the fastest and most secure option for volume, urgent or high-value freight.

Customs documentation since Brexit

Every movement needs an export declaration on the UK side and an import declaration in the destination country, plus a commercial invoice and packing list with accurate commodity codes and values. EUR1 or a statement on origin secures preferential duty where the goods qualify, and T1 transit is used where goods move under duty suspension. We work with approved agents rather than leaving the paperwork with you.

Realistic transit times

Northern France, Belgium and the Netherlands are typically two to four working days on groupage; Germany three to five; Spain, Italy and Portugal five to eight. Full trailers are quicker. Customs clearance, not road time, is the usual cause of delay, so complete paperwork before departure matters more than the route.

Returns, collections and inbound freight

The same arrangements work inbound: we collect from European suppliers, handle UK import declarations and deliver into your site or warehouse, with GVMS references and reference numbers issued to the carrier before the crossing.
