Construction case studies

Construction haulage case studies

Construction transport lives or dies on the delivery window. These construction haulage case studies show how Johnson's Haulage plans timed site deliveries, building materials movements and flatbed loads across the UK, sourcing the right vehicle for each drop through our approved carrier network.

Every movement is booked against the site's access, offloading and induction requirements, then managed end to end so the gang, crane or forklift on site is not left waiting.

What we manage for construction customers

  • Timed and booked-in site deliveries with restricted access windows
  • Flatbed, crane-mounted (HIAB) and moffett-served loads
  • Building materials, steelwork, cladding and modular units
  • Phased deliveries matched to the construction programme

Construction transport questions

What is dedicated transport?
Dedicated transport is a vehicle sourced through our carrier network and committed exclusively to your freight for the duration of the job — it does not carry other customers' loads or make unrelated stops.
How is dedicated transport different from groupage?
Groupage combines several customers' freight onto one vehicle to share cost, which can mean multiple stops and longer transit. Dedicated transport carries only your freight, on a schedule built around your requirements.
Do you offer same-day haulage across the UK?
Yes. Our dedicated same-day service typically arranges collection within 60 minutes of booking anywhere in mainland UK, with a straight run to the delivery point and progress updates along the way.
What size vehicles can you arrange?
Through our approved carrier network we can source everything from small vans and Luton tail-lifts to 7.5t, 18t and 26t rigids, 44-tonne articulated units, flatbeds and crane-mounted vehicles.

Planning a site delivery programme?

Send site postcodes, load dimensions and your required delivery windows and a transport coordinator will price the work — usually the same working day.
